Hobby recap of 2017

Hi everyone!
Today is January 9, 2018 and all of us made few steps in New Year.
First of all, I want to say - Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all of You. I wish you many bright and positive moments in the New Year. I wish You a lot of inspiration, may all Your dreams come true!

Time has come to summarize what I have done in hobby during 2017:
1) I started two new projects. They are - Rogue trader project and Daemons of Khorne. First project is a commission one. I am painting models for a tabletop game called Rogue Trader for my friend. And in previous year I started new army - Daemons of Khorne.
2) I wrote 12 posts here. I showed both the old models that I painted earlier and the new ones, which I finished during 2017. I did not have enough time to show all models that I painted previous year, so I am going to present them later.
3) I painted 40 miniatures. I painted only 15 models a year ago, so it is nice result for me. And I hope to beat this result next year. Here are models that I finished in 2017.

Fenrisian Wolves

Battle Spaceships for Rogue trader

Seneschal

Navigators

Wolf Guard Sergeant

Ork Warmaster

Necron Warriors

Daemons Of Khorne Bloodletters

I did not have time to make photos of Necron Warriors and Khorne Bloodletters. I will show them to you later.

I wanted to add; this time I made two separate messages - about Anniversary and later (now) about hobby results during the year. I did not sum up the results in October (in Anniversary post), as before, so I had two additional months to paint and to score more finished models. And it is the secret how I painted more miniatures than earlier. However, since this year I am going to make Hobby recap in the end or in the beginning of the year.

Now a few words about 2018. This year I am planning to finish Space Wolves army (one of the oldest), to finish Rogue trader commission project and to paint more models for my army of Khorne Daemons. Moreover, I am going to finish something from what I have already begun, if only I have free time. So many ideas, so little time.

Thanks to everyone.
Good luck in 2018!

Necrons: Canoptek Scarab Swarms

It is time to show more Necrons. This post is about Canoptek Scarab Swarms. To tell the truth, four little scarabs on the base do not look like a swarm. That is why I decided to make а real swarm. For this purpose, Christina made for me a form from a special clay. Using this form and my old green stuff, I did a lot of scarabs. Some of them turned out badly, so I glued such scarabs to the bottomI tried to glue as many of them as possible and on the top I put original scarabs. And now photos.

Some WIP photos

It is form, which Christina made for me.

And this is ready scarabs.

Now they really look like a swarm of scarabs. I'm happy with the result and I like those glowing lenses. I left a few scarabs to use them later. Hope you like those scarabs too.

Necrons: Canoptek Wraiths

This time I am going to show Canoptek Wraiths. This squad is another part of Necron army. Few words about figures. I really like this models and it was interesting to assemble them. These miniatures are made up of small and thin details, but due to their poses, models look huge. Besides, I like that their poses differ from each other.

As well as a Canoptek Spider, I painted Canoptek Ghosts very quickly. Here rusty parts looks better. Glowing parts were painted using airbrush. On Necron models Cristina taught me how to paint such details.

Necrons: Canoptek Spyder

In the beginning of this year, my friend bought several squads of Necrons. All of them were already painted. Howeverunlike of ours necrons, those models were made in a more realistic style. There were added scratches, scrapes and rust. My friend bought them to speed up our Necrons project. Some time later, we decided to paint further necrons figures in this style, as both of us like such color scheme.
In the end of spring, I started my part of Necrons. I was painting Canoptek Spyder, Canoptek Wraiths and three Scarab Swarms simultaneously. And today I am going to show you Canoptek Spyder.
It was first model where I tried to make rust. For this purpose, I used dry citadel paint - Ryza rust. For now, I do not fully understand how to use it. The result was not ideal, and in the future I will practice more to make realistic rust. In the end practice makes perfect.

Soon I will show more.

First anniversary

A year has passed since I posted my first message here. And this is my "year in retrospective" post. I want to show what I have finished this year.

Necrons weekends

Today I returned back home from the country. I spent weekends there with my best friend. We played Warhammer game. Cost of my army was near 1500 points. My army was chaos space marines. That game was my first game with allies. My allies was Necrons. My friend's army was army of Ultramarines. It was funny, interesting and long game.
A little bit about Necrons. Some time ago, we decided to paint a little Necrons army. It is so, because they became really awesome after update. New units, new rules, new history etc. But the main feature is time economy. We chose easy and fast Necron painting scheme, which let us paint miniatures really fast. It was our first experience to paint miniatures fast. Full warriors squad and squad of five immortals were finished in a week. It was successful experiment. As, for example, it takes me 3-4 days to finish a single miniature. We're going to continue painting Necrons in future.

Here are some photos:

Moreover, we started painting tau xv25. I will show them a little bit later.
