A little break

Hi everyone,

Almost a month has passed since my last post here. It is so because of my study at university. Session began. Therefore, I have to study hard to finish this term without failed exams. Moreover, this is my last academic year, and I have to protect a diploma in the end. At now, I am preparing to my exams and writing a diploma. That's why I don't have much time to paint.

But today I have got some free time to show something to people reading this post. First thing I would like to show is quantity if bits and details I have got for today.

It is main box, where I keep most part of my bits. There are Space Wolves parts, Sanguinary Guard, Death Company, Space Marine, lots of chaos bits and others. From time to time, I take some part of them and then glue and paint them.

Here is the second box. It is dark vengence box, which I bought in august. I glued most part of these miniatures but only few were started. Almost all of them are unpainted and still lying in different boxes. Models from this box are so awesome, I like them. They are higly detailed and got a perfect cast. Models are from different marks, pockets, seals, holsters, grenades, bones, skulls, some mutations; all this makes them look pretty and ferocious.

I think that it is going to be amazing to paint them, especially chaos miniatures, chosens and hellbrute. Only one miniature from this box was painted, it was usual space marine with bolter, I tryed on this miniature my new painting scheme, you can see result here.

From time to time, I took some details from it, or put here wasted or unneeded parts. It is some kind of a dump. 

Other two boxes but this time with miniatures. One of them is designed for Space Wolves miniatures, there you can see my 5 future wolves. I have started three of them. Another box allotted for my Sword Bearers, some of them glued and some of them not.

And another boxes. Left is for death guard miniatures and for parts of raptors and right ... em... for something. I can't see anything in this box.

And last but not least box - box of my current WIP's.

Here are lying miniatures that I am painting now. There are - 3 Death Guard marines, 3 Sword Bearers from tactical squad, one from Death Company and one terminator. Furthermore, here you can see primed chaos cultists from dark vengeance, necron shields and some tau and tau parts. Dont know how tau and necrons parts appeared here. And that cultist is lying here from summer. I have started them long time ago and still didnt finished. One day one day...

I think that I have a lot of bits and I shouldn't buy anything any more, but is is so difficult to come to shop and not to buy a new box of miniatures, as there are so many cool models and so many different ideas. Moreover, from time to time Games Workshop makes new awesome releases, which I guess all painters want to buy.

To sum up, here you saw my boxes of bits, parts, details and miniatures. I still want to buy lots of boxes and collect a lot of painted armies. Still have lots of figures to paint and little time for that. But I hope to paint them all, one day.

New project: Sword Bearers

Some time earlier I wrote about my thoughts, they were about starting my own space marine chapter. I was thinking about army which will include Dark Angels or Blood Angels miniatures. Then I decided to make some kind of a mixed army, which will consist of miniatures from both of these two chapters. They are going to be Blood Angels successors, but with Dark Angels bits and with their heraldy.

Why Blood angels successor? Because they can have got together usual marines and Death Company. Moreover, they can include Sanguinary Guard. Death Company have nice color combination, which I am fond of. Miniatures, which appeared in the last update of Blood Angles, are so awesome. Wings, heads, bodies, weapons, crosses, and packs they made. Furthermore, a lot of pretty commanders released in Blood Angels army in last update. 

And about color scheme. I chose purple color. I fall in love with this color when I tried it for the first time. This purple is deep and easy to cover. About other colors, I tried to paint them in Lamenters style, because they have beautiful scheme. So here is my test miniature, I tried to make scratches without metallics.

Alpha Legion: Agents (Part 4)

Another agent is ready. It is sergeant of the squad. I started him year ago, just when I had started my first three agents. That time he was headless and had not his right arm. But week ago, when I was painting plague marines, I found him and decided to finish.

Details

Sword looks cheap. Firstly, I had an idea to paint it in dark green with highlights on its edges, but I failed. My highlights were not thin and straight. So I used remedy for nail polish remover to clear the sword. After that, there were a lot of little dots on the sword, so I have to paint that sword in metal to hide them. I don't know, what is that on his backpack in the middle, so I painted it as it was a battery, or something like that. And as for broken helmet on the ground. I tried to make lens, which does not shine.

Some more photos. I showed this guy earlier, but he was on empty base. Now he is fully ready. Further, I am going to paint plague marines squad.

Photos before painting:

I am going to finish this squad later because now I want to paint squad of Death Guard marines. I showed WIP photo of test model earlier. Here are photos of finished variant. It takes me several hours to paint him. So it is a real fast paint color scheme for me. But I still thinking about base. I want to make swamp but I don't know how to do it.
